Togs

'Togs' is the quintessentially Australian / NZ word for bathers or swimwear. 'Togs' came from the word 'togeman', which the British used to denote a coat. 'Togeman' has its roots in the Latin word 'toga' meaning 'cloak' or 'mantle'. In modern Australia today, 'togs' has only one meaning and that is swimwear!

Togs come in a wide range of styles and colours, and are made from a wide range of materials. For women, the one-piece and bikini styles are by far the most popular for togs. For men, board shorts and trunks are the most popular.

Togs tend to wear and do need replacing at least once every two years, due to fading and wear and tear but also due to changing styles and colours. For women especially, a new pair of togs each summer is a must.

If you are looking to buy some new togs, the best place to shop is online!
